The City of Hampton is responsible for the pickup of yard debris. Yard debris will be picked up on the East side of the City on Monday and the West side on Tuesday.
Limbs are to be NO longer than 4ft in length, NO wider than 2 inches. Any loose debris (grass, leaves etc.) are to be put in Bio-degradable bags, if not it will NOT be picked up.
Recycling Center Closing
During the past two years, the prices paid for sorted recycled materials have dropped precipitously. Today, unsorted recyclables have little market value. Centers are charging a fee to take our unsorted recyclables. Henry County has declined to open a sorted recycling facility in or near Hampton.
Due to the rising expense, the recycling center at the old city shop will be closed on August 1, 2015. For those who would like to continue recycling, sorted materials may be taken to the Henry County Recycling Center, 25 Ashbury Road, McDonough. Also, several independent vendors are available for curbside pickup. A list is available at http://www.co.henry.ga.us/green/curbsiderecycling.shtml. Fees vary.
