The Hampton City Council will hold a called Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 @ 6:30 PM. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss future plans for the Downtown Development Authority. The meeting will be held at the Council Chambers located at 17 East Main Street, Hampton, GA. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
Administrative Offices Closed
In observation of Thanksgiving, the City of Hampton administrative offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 26 & 27.
Trash will also run a delayed schedule and will be picked up on Saturday.
Recycling Center Closing
During the past two years, the prices paid for sorted recycled materials have dropped precipitously. Today, unsorted recyclables have little market value. Centers are charging a fee to take our unsorted recyclables. Henry County has declined to open a sorted recycling facility in or near Hampton.
Due to the rising expense, the recycling center at the old city shop will be closed on August 1, 2015. For those who would like to continue recycling, sorted materials may be taken to the Henry County Recycling Center, 25 Ashbury Road, McDonough. Also, several independent vendors are available for curbside pickup. A list is available at http://www.co.henry.ga.us/green/curbsiderecycling.shtml. Fees vary.
